Two Children Critically Injured In MD School Bus Crash (Developing)

Two children suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing into a school bus in Montgomery County.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the intersection of East Village and Plum Creek Drive in Gaithersburg to investigate a car that smashed into the side of a bus.

Officials say that a child and young adult were transported to an area hospital with traumatic injuries, though there were no students on the school bus at the time of the crash.

The incident is now being investigated by the Montgomery County Department of Police.

It is unclear what caused the collision.
